Heavy equipment, unforgiving access

Mine development and shutdown work can require the movement of electric shovels, haul-truck bodies, mill components, crushers, screens and prefabricated plant whose dimensions exceed conventional road freight. The route may begin at a port or rail terminal, cross public OS/OW or abnormal-load corridors, and finish on private industrial roads far from reliable mapping. A single low cable at a settlement, processing gate or temporary work zone can interrupt a carefully sequenced mobilisation.

Route reconnaissance is especially important when seasonal grading, resurfacing, new utility lines, vegetation growth or construction traffic can change the usable envelope. Desktop corridor assessment helps narrow the options, but project teams need current field measurements before choosing a route, configuring transport equipment or committing to enabling works. The objective is not merely to find a road: it is to establish evidence for a practical corridor from logistics origin to site access.

Built for offline field capture

MeasurePRO runs as a native Windows 10/11 application on a rugged tablet and works fully offline in the field. Surveyors do not need a mobile signal to continue capturing the corridor, making the system suited to remote mine approaches and industrial regions where connectivity is intermittent. The complete package includes the LiDAR, positioning and camera hardware needed by organizations that conduct their own surveys, plus training.

Voice notes remain available offline for field observations. Voice commands support English, French and Spanish when internet service is available. That combination lets a survey team retain local context—such as a gate, temporary crossing or access instruction—without making connectivity a prerequisite for measurement. Survey files can later be exported in CSV, JSON, GeoJSON, KML or ZIP formats for broader engineering and project workflows.

Measure the transport envelope in motion

The vehicle-mounted SolTec 2D LiDAR sensor measures overhead bridges, power and communication lines, signals, gantries, pipe racks, site structures and vegetation as the proposed route is driven. The sensor is specified at ±2 mm accuracy across a 0.2–250 m range, with a Class 1 eyesafe laser and IP67-rated housing. Continuous capture reduces dependence on isolated spot checks and keeps crews out of live traffic lanes for routine overhead measurements.

Dual GPS/GNSS positioning ties measurements to the corridor, while synchronized 360-degree camera evidence records what was present. Surveyors can review questionable observations while they are still near the location. See how this supports clearance verification and heavy-haul planning.

Carry the field record into planning

When the survey team regains connectivity, MeasurePRO syncs to RoadScope. RoadScope is where office teams analyse constraints, compare the corridor with planned equipment envelopes, review imagery, and create reporting and planning outputs. Those are RoadScope capabilities, not MeasurePRO add-ons. The original field record remains connected to the office review, avoiding re-entry from handwritten notes.
